WCU Tatum Court
Hattiesburg, MS

At roughly 3:45am on the morning of January 21, 2017 an EF-3 tornado carved a path of destruction across the campus of William Carey University. Tatum Court was deemed a total loss.
A new vision for Tatum Court included the offices of Financial Affairs, Financial Aid, the Registrars Office, Student Support Services, Human Resources, and the President’s executive cabinet. For the first time in Carey history, all administrative branches would co-exist under one roof. Nearly 11,000sf of administrative offices and meeting spaces on each of the first two floors would wrap around a central grand atrium and staircase lined with the same polished brass railings that adorned the original campus. The entire third floor originally reserved for future space was destined to become an additional 7,000sf banquet hall and meeting space. The original bricks were salvaged and serve as the base for a new colonnade, designed to replicate the original Tatum Court entry, at the welcoming entrance to campus.
